Website Practice

This is the start of the website creation activity I have done to relate to the cd cover base. I have related this to the cd cover as it gives an theme to it and allows the theme to give an bland but effective style to the band and audience.

I have implermented the use of social media within the website that gives an constant use of social media as it gives multiple perspective of differentways they can be connected.


Reflection:
The impact of this website test gave me an clear thought of what social aspects of I would like to be in the website, an example of this would be;
The simple use of all the template of it being in the middle
An meaningful image in the background that is used for the constant housestye
Keep the use of social media constant as it will allow the engagement of other social medias to be accepted and an wider audience to be implermented if the users would like know alot more about them.

• When you first load up the website it goes stright into an mailing list to give you the newest information sent ot your email incase you cannot  go furtther on the website. This feature is effective for the website as it quickly promotes there news feed to another sector of the internet with th euse of emails system s to be common within socieity such as; Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo etc.

• Stiright into the tour date within the webstite  eg Moonshine jungle tour, with an constant use of an navigation bar to the left hand side through the section that will be avaialble throughout scrolling down the web page what gives an constant hosue style.

• They include the use of more indepth knowledge of the bruno mars himself through the use of an section called: Photo's and Video's

•  Another section that has been useful within the website is the clear advertisement to the section on the music page what allows the use of previws and also another use of other media links implermetned to other websites you would be able to download it from

• They create the use of an online forum within the website to implerlent other users within the website to give local contant to all users, another way it is used is it speicified into different countrys that create different posts/threads of the band therefore it gives clearance on the forums.

Through the use of the Style of the website, style of theme this allows to give a peaceful theme to the website what can imply the use of style of music bruno mars presents.

The way that bruno mars website signify the genre of music is through the use of the theme that is used wihtin the website as they give an indie theme as it gives an diferent feel to the website that can be referred to the artist alone.

• Use of an news that gives recent information about what has happened for example the use of preorder of Cavalier youths special edition

• They dont really intereact with the audience personally however it seems ot be more implermetned with the band alone, the only way i can see they intereact is through the use of there facebook, twitter etc.

• They are clearly shown as the style of the genre through the use of the house style of the website.
• The use of the brown and white features within the whole website as it gives an cool theme to them.

The reasoning that I have looked into this website as they are the general genre we are looking into therefore the style of the website would be unique,

The part I like about the website is the house style is kept through and all centreed that makes it simple for all users to be accessable. Another sector would ebt eh constanct icons of social media links that also fit with the colour of the title eg red that stands out well witin the navigation bar.

The use of one image throughout the background in each page.

Reflection:

for the website within the production I am going to be taking all elements from these websites to create an website that allows all the use of social media and quick and simple usage however keep it to our own unique style for example I would like to have an meaningful image in the background that can be constant throughout and the use of everything being centered that would make it compatible for any users for example; small monitors, even phones would be suitable.

However the website pages that I have looked into dont all meet the style of genre we are going for however the general graphic design can be used significantly within the website page of the product alone. This research into the graphical design allows the website to be more user friendly and provide vital information for the users that are going to be accessing this. We will be able to add our own material

Album Cover: exercise

Within this production of creating an album cover throughout the use of an exercise that selects the usage of text and images you join together to create an album cover. This has been useful as it shows what styles go with one another and how simple it can be but effective to the genre music of productoin throughout the stages of production .

Inspiring Videos

The reason why these videos are a good insight of would be easy to do within the production as the setting for the area can be done in one location the only need would be suitable users within the music production including the use of multiple use of clothing changes in similarities to the original video.

These have been my thoughts of feelings of what would be inspiring to me in which I can reflect within the Music Video that gives it that unique feel to the consumers.
Most of these videos are from different style of genre's. The reasoning behind all of this as it widens the different style of camerawork and visual effects that would be suitable for purpose within our work. An example of this would be the quick pacing and props that we would use to give our work the correct effect of the genre alone.


red hot chilli peppers:

The reason why this music video has been an inspiration to me as it has been an clear allocation towards the genre I will be working with. The style of theme and the general. The technical aspects of the video that caught my eye were the simplicity of how it was all set in one location and the simple transaction between the curing of the other performers within the music video another thought that I liked was the use of quick  cuts between the different band members and simple use of quick cuts and amateur editing.



Arctic Monkeys


Arctic Monkeys have always been an good inspire to my general music taste the style of genre I would like to work with for this production, the main reason that this music video has caught my eye inwhic given me and renz and better insight of what we would like from it to implerment into the work we will be creating. The following aspects we got from the music video was:

The quick cutting from singing to dancers to something sinister
The quick pacing of close up of the band singer.
The range of performance was limited.
Everything was set into place
The atmosphere was slowly built up throughout time. 

Oasis - Little By Little

this is another aspect of an video that has given me trail of thought of what I would be able to brough in. The reasoning about this as the style of the music and video both corrolife together to give the right chill moment to it as it allows the right aspect of everything together. The reason behind this as the style of shots frmo teh comparison of the guitarist becoming within the centre of the town and the sceneario behind it all as it allows the right comparison. Another is the transition of the main character walking down a street wit hthe added transitiaon towards the woods this representation allows the use of freedom from the harsh reality of life and how it can change someone to give them a sense of freedom.

 

The key framing has became to be closed framing for both the guitarist and singer along with the actor playing out the scenearion was centreted in the middle to show middle of attension throughout the whole production. 

Later through this it came more open framed what can imply the sense of freedom through the use of the fade evolved effect of the street turnging into the woods.

from  this video alone the thought of the simple transitions to one selection to another would be effective in our style of production for the chosen genre we are looking into creating for the coursework.


Napalm Death


Even though this style of music video isnt suitable for the style of genre we are going to be working with the visual effect has brough tan interest to be how the quick transitions of the band perofrmaning to an news selection that shows an clear guidence of story within the song. The part that would be suitable for the purpose of the work would ebt eh type of shots were made through the production for example the engagemnet of all the band members both corrrosponding with one another within the action.

Another is the white transation and the black costume style that allows all the band members to stand out including the use of the clothing inwhich I will be explaining alot more that can be realted to the costume thought for the song that we will be selecting. 

3:24 - 3:40 the transaction of all the band membres quickly cutting into another scene conjoining one another to fit the scene of production.
 1:30 - 1:34 the wya the transtionaly effect that comes to inrelation to the news report that is going off, giving a clear representation of something thats trying to be telervised.

The way that I am going to implement these theories into my project will be to:


Lyrics and visuals:
Making sure the style of music that we select will give an clear guidance through  both lyrical and video performance this will give an clear signal of what the band is trying to get towards to.
 Make sure the structure  of video both relate as it will engage to the audience and make the link that sympathises with the performers as it can give an clear dialog for the music video that we will be selecting.

Genre Characteristics:
Make sure the performers that are used and stereotypical to that style of genre we have selected. The rough thought we have got through this is the style of an stereo type late teenager who likes the style of pop and rock that gives an positive light of aspect to them.

Demand for the label:
For the project we are going to be creating we are going to keep the style of genre to be constant to set an image to promote the band that fits the style of the music and the digital aspect through the use of the cd cover and website. Something that gives our product an meaning, the thought of this for the product is still undecided.

The progression within the project will turn out well as throughout the previous coursework that we created as I selected print section with added effect of video editing as from post productions before hand we started this coursework allowed my confidence within the video editing basis to become to a point where I can expand into my research and learn into new styles of editing what allows the effectiveness of design work to be to an high standard however Renz created an Video therefore it will allow the progression of recording to be well maintained.

Finally a good point that would come into handy for both of us would the use of using previous editing softwares in the past that will allow the editing development to conjoin together with ease.

Throughout this activity of production we learnt how another skill of how to do combine all different shots to create an music video as it allowed us to realise to make sure the project we are going to be working with is all synced up to the footage we have recorded, another feature that was easily shown to us was the use of aligning them all up so within the future objective of the editign stages it will be more as ease selecting which scenes we would like to use. 

Editing Skills Development

Throughout the Skills development day on the 19th August we were given multiple sources of video and a few  sound tracks to only use one track and create an quick 30 second video, this allowed me to be on track with the work as quick as I can (even though it was practice) it allowed me to have the skill of being able to select specific clips that go well with the soundtrack to give it meaning, to add to this would be allocating the back ground music to the sound track as it will; fit the lip sync and fit the genre of soundtrack.

Another sector that occurred through the editing stages was making sure the clips we used were cropped finely and not one frame onto the black screen (end of scene) and it quickly went onto the scene smoothly without there being a little cut out and if there was I had to zoom into that section to quickly play frame through frame to find any faults or the sections of each video clip were joined together to prevent the black 1 frame that interferes with the soundtrack alone.

Reflection:
Throughout the ending of the production of this skill it has allowed me to adapt to certain styles of post production within a product and the style of edits I would be starting to proceed with for example, visual effects and how effective they are to the style of work that I am going to be presenting.
More of the priority within the music video has to be emphasised on the the quality of work. The reasoning behind this is to make sure that the product is suitable for its purpose therefore it has to have certain elements to make the product as it is, the list of this would be the following:

• Lip sync on time
• Different Style of shots
• Different style of locations to widen variety
• Different style of props
• Give more broaden depth of the area to suit its purpose for either performance of the band or B roll's that link with the video and its purpose. 

Music Video Event

Throughout the duration of the time within the music video event through the date of 19th August 2014.

Within the duration of the day we learnt new skills to gain the best level available for the coursework that we will be creating and the faults that can occur to maintain the best available work overall.

The progession through the day shown us improvements that can easily be made within the coursework and fully later through the day of the shoot that we all particiaed in for example; Camera work and performaning, it allowed us to have ago and be told critical improvements that will easily be suitable for the work that we wil be creating.

 

During the Activity

 Within the activity we were shown how everything was set up for the reasons to give multiple uses of all scenes that can be used within the recording to reach its full potensial.

It allows us to see what similarities we would be working with and how ours would be set up to achieve the best recordings for the upcoming editing of our music video.

Finally it gave us improvements throughout the recording of each groups to make us realise where our faults are and where we can improve.


 Through the duration of the performance

Once we were opted to go into groups and try out different instruments, vocals or recording. It allowed everyone to have an hands on go at familiar activities that will be useful within duration of the coursework that allows us to know the work more in hand inpreperation for more practicles that might be useful for either my project or another project within the classroom for another user.

This practical of the performance has allowed me to realise what really needs to be done within a music video if you are performaning yourself and from this I have found the following:

• Always be on your feet through the duration of a music video if performaning
• Make sure of the atmosphere around you and stick to it if group band to create the vibe within the music video
•  Don't be shy when performaning or recording enjoy it while your still alive.
• When recording always make sure you get the most out of the screening as it will allow you to have more to play around within the editing stages.

 






The Technical terms that I learnt for props was to be organised and have everything set out so it makes the band look real including making it possible for different shots within the recording feature.

Playing the track
Number of takes

performance
Direction

All of these will effect my later production of the coursework as it will allow everything to comjoin together within the production to allow everything to flow functionally within the recording stages therefore it wont allow any mistakes to be made  and then to go through the hassle of recording certain sections as they wernt set up properly.





Towards the end of the day we had another activity of where we had todo an exercise that allowed the use of video sources and background music to create an 30 seconed video within 40 minutes it make me realise the pace the work is going to be permitted throughout the coursework to maintain the best grades possible

Throughout the creations of these videos it has allowed me to learn the skills that are useable within the duration of production, I have learnt the following;

How everything has to be organised for the full potential of the video to be the best it can be, by this I mean having the location set up for example the backlight, camera set ups (moveable tripod and Fig rig) as it allowed us to have multiple shots to be located within the editing stages of the video to give it more of an buzz instead of the usage of one style of camera shot.

Another improvement that I have learnt during this time would have to be the amount of shots that should be taken within the production of recording as it allows multiple choices through the duration of editing as some recordings can be better than others.  

Reflection:
The way that this will help me with later projects in the future is through the use of being realistic about the timings within the product and the production time what would be suitable for everyone that will allow the editing and photoshoots to go successful for the following;

Holiday Homework

 Holiday Homework: Skills Development

1)     Within the development of the music video production it has shown the issues that can occur within the development from the start to the final product being available for published reasons, one main reasons that occurred to us was the organization of the videos that we wanted to created and being realistic about the options that we have chosen., the following that occurred were; Are these realistic to create within the time available. Will the production meet the needs and how long would be editing take in comparison to the other videos therefore all the quality of work is equal within the music production. Besides that another main thing we learn it the amount of retakes that were needed through the recording stages as it allowed us to have an multiple choice of selection throughout the duration of creation of the video to give the raw footage to be more effective especially as one shot might look more suitable for the video where another one could have an camera angle not suitable or shaky camera that would make it look professional.

2)     Throughout the development of the music videos it has given me multiple chooses in which has allowed me to progress in the quality of my work for example; The editing that goes into a music video that makes it look professional an example of this can be the lip sync and the suitable visuals that give the an more visual look basis to the video.

3)     With the skills that I have learned from this production this will give me more of an understanding within the coursework production as it will allow me to be more realistic with the work that I will be creating with the amount of research and planning that will be going into it to give the best results available from the production. Another feature that would be possible within the production would be the availability of props that are vital within the music video as it will allow the genre of the music to relate to the actors as well including the way they dress as it will make it more realistic to the genre that will be selected within the production of choice on the other hand another vital use within this production that can be reflected into the coursework production would be the editing of all the scenes to make the product, the way that this will be maintained is through the use of the groups opinion of how everything is set out eg the lip sync, the use of cinematography and finally the use of visual effects that are suitable foe the product that is going to be created.  Finally would be the selection of taking multiple shots and retakes to allow the full potential of that scene to be perfect and to be able to compare the quality different for the selection of which shot would be idel through the editing stages of the product.
